About Me
I first started playing piano at the age of 7 when I very excitedly asked my parents if I could start taking lessons. All I had to practice on at the time was a tiny keyboard with unweighted keys, but that didn’t stop me from very quickly immersing myself in the instrument and falling in love with it.
I don’t know the exact timeframe, but within a few years I was playing the piano all the time. Whether it be practicing or just having fun with whatever I wanted to play, I was often playing the piano as soon as I got home from school.
I first started learning about jazz in middle school when I joined the jazz band, but became especially interested in it in high school. I ended up going to The Ohio State University to study both data analytics and music, with the music degree having a concentration in jazz piano. There, I studied with EMMY award-winning pianist Dave Powers, who helped me improve drastically and really solidify my sound.
Recently, I graduated from college and started playing in Columbus. I have had the privilege of playing with many great musicians in the Columbus area, such as Shawn Wallace, Jim Rupp, Jerrod Shackleford, Miles Smith, Victor Madelaine, Ivan Murray, Andrew Theiss, Maxwell Button and others.
Outside of music, I received a degree in data analytics from Ohio State in which I specialized in data visualization. In my free time, I enjoy watching baseball, going to the gym, and hanging out with friends.
